Caldecott, the Scruffy Dog
This adorable mutt leaped out of An Elegy on the Death of a Mad Dog and Randolph Caldecott's Pictures and Songs. Randolph Caldecott (1846-1886) was a spirited graphic artist and watercolor painter. His illustrations had such a profound effect on children's literature that the Randolph Caldecott Medal was established to honor him.
I purchased Caldecott, the scruffy dog, at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
Take the Caldecott Literary Scavenger Hunt.
