Rich House - 1940s
Maurice Rich, Sr. and Edward M. Rich founded the Rich Manufacturing Company in 1921 in Sterling, Illinois. The firm originally manufactured tops for automobiles, but in 1923, changed to toy production. In 1935, the company moved to Clinton, Iowa, and became the Rich Toy Manufacturing Company.

The floors of the kitchen and bathroom are decorated with a diamond pattern to indicate tile. Another pattern used by Rich was the evergreen tree printed on the shutters of the house.
