Newbery House
I completed this wooden, two-part, side-by-side, seven-room dollhouse in June of 2015. Clues for every Newbery Medal-winning book can be found on the exterior or in the magical rooms. Many of the titles are represented by framed mini-bookcovers, which are signed by the authors.
The Newbery Medal is awarded annually to the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children. The award, which is named for eighteenth-century British publisher John Newbery, is given by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association. The first-ever Newbery Medal went to The Story of Mankind by Hendrik Van Loon in 1922.
